Bruno Mars has taken a plea deal to avoid prosecution for his drug arrest from last year, according to CNN.
The terms of the plea have the artist agreeing to stay out of trouble for a year, receive drug counseling, complete 200 hours of community service and pay a $2,000 fine, lest he face jail time.
The "Just The Way You Are" singer was busted this past September in a Las Vegas, Nevada casino restroom for having 2.6 grams of cocaine in his front left pocket of his jeans, said police.
Initially Tess Driver, an assistant to Clark County District Attorney David Roger, was the first to confirm the terms of the agreement, when she told the Las Vegas Review-Journal newspaper on Friday, January 28.
The charges will be dropped if Mars succeeds in following through with the deal, but if he doesn't he could face prison time, said Roger.
