Ne-Yo passed up a chance to sign Justin Bieber when the young singer was just 11-years-old. Now, he says that was a mistake.
During a recent interview with MTV, the "Beautiful Monster" singer said that he just wasn't sure how to present the teen idol at such a young age.
Bieber later went on to sign a contract with his mentor Usher and Ne-Yo says he wishes he could take that decision back.
"Absolutely . . . I absolutely regret not signing him. He is hugely talent," Ne-Yo said, adding that he simply "didn't know what music to make with an 11-year-old boy."
He explained: "If I had signed him, it probably would have worked out the same, as Justin is hugely talented and deserves the success."
And although Ne-Yo gave up his chance to get in business with the world's foremost teen star, he noted that they are making music together now.
"I am writing for Justin but I'm finding it kinda hard as it's a long time since I was 16-years-old. At the moment, I'm just playing around with a few ideas for him," he said.
