Justin Timberlake has announced that he may be returning to the studio this summer. It will be the first time he has worked on his own material in over five years.
In recent years, he has been producing and collaborating with other musicians while focusing on his acting career.
The 30-year-old singer spoke with E! Online at the Academy Awards ceremony, saying: "I have not retired from music. I'm unemployed right now. I haven't been hired for anything so I may hire myself to write some music . . . It's right around the corner."
He also quipped: "It gets hard to motivate yourself to do anything besides golf."
Since the release of his last LP, 2006's FutureSex/LoveSounds, Timberlake has collaborated with Drake, U.K. songstress Jessie J, Madonna, Ciara, and Rihanna.
